A last minute surge

These are probably the boys that were usually late for class back in ‘76 – or came just when the school bell rang. But Kah Thiam reports that there’s been a surge of lat minuite confirmations so we now have 57 people signed up for the Reunion. Good show guys.

Also we now have n teachers invited to the dinner:

• Tan Chee Sin
• Victor Lim
• Vincent Soo
• Ong Ah Guan

That brings the number up to 63. It loooks like it would be a real reunion afterall instead of a few of us looking at each other’s bald spots and pot bellies.

BTW I bumped into Ong Thian Chai at the LCCT today. He’s working with MPH and he sends regrets that he won’t be able to make it.

We’re now close to half century mark

Thanks to the good work of Kah Thiam, Kok Chan and others in the fine art of arm twisting we now have 49 class of ‘76ers signed up and confirmed for the December 9 Reunion.

So with less thann two weeks more to go let’s make a final push and see if we can hit at least 60 people.

Our guys on the ground have also invited another teacher: Patrick Teoh to join us. He will be joining three other teachers: Vincent Soo, Ong Ah Guan and Victor Lim. Are there more teachers we can invite?

For those of you going for the Reunion, it is also time for you to make your hotel bookings if you haven’t already. Aik Guan is making a booking for Hock Chuan and possibly Chung Leong so if any of you want to hang out together in the hotel for pre and post dinner drinks you may want to contact him.

We’re now up to 46 people; three teachers invited

Kah Thiam, who is channelling Kok Chan from beyond the cyber ether, now says that we have 46 people signed up for our December 9 reunion. The names are in the confirmed/paid up page on this blog.

In addition we have invited three of our former teachers to attend. They are:

• Vincent Soo
• Ong Ah Guan
• Victor Lim

That’s a very positive development. I wonder if Kah Thiam/Kok Chan can invite more of the former teachers such as Patrick Teoh, Ong Chin Lai etc to the reunion. I wouldn’t mind paying more to invite them.

Finally, can  Kah Thiam give us a rundown of the programme at the reunion. Is it an affair where we go there, eat, maybe get drunk if there are no doctors orders not to do so and then go home? Or is a programme being planned?

Is anyone in a position to prepare a slide show/presentation of nostalgic photos? if so we may need to collect the photos now.

Finally, I think it may be  a good idea for someone to compile and print a newsletter or entries for this blog to commemorate the reunion. At least there’d be something to show your grandchildren. hehe.

Sorry guys, I’ve been busy and haven’t been updating the information on who’s confirmed/paid. So if there’s any of who who have already confirmed/paid but still do not have you names listed among the 30 at the confirmed/paid page, please e-mail me ong@maverick.co.id and I’ll list your name down.

In the meantime, can kah Thiam post an update of what’s been happening to the organization? Do we just do dinner or should we organize something fun apart from the dinner such as a small side trip to Burmese Pool (if it still exists) or Maxwell’s Hill (though we’d probably have to take the jeep as our old bones may not survive a hike up there).
